full frame: 100% crop:

I did it...full frame captures from my scanner camera. It took about one full days worth of work to modify the scanner enough to capture without severely vignetting the image. Now I need to modify the scanner drivers (I think I just got a headache from thinking about that) and the scanner camera body a little. So far though, a huge improvement from what it was...Image size is now a full 5 inch x 5 inch scan (previously it was 2.5 inch square at best) also check out the clarity in the detail on the 100% crop.....STOKED!

So I started a new project, I am making an old Argus C3 into a digital camera. I guess I am more or less shoving a digital camera inside an Argus...but whateves it will be sweet when its done, that is if it works...

I finally did it...

This is my new 'studio', it is actually pretty sweet working outside, winter will suck.....Oh and thank you again for your passionate art talk (speech)...

But like any good parent you take them apart and tell them who actually is boss...Bitches! That camera on the top left (Contax 645 w/80mm f2 T* zeiss lens) is the newest asshat in my orphanage.

Anit Anti Superhero

This dudes working name is 'titan', not sure how I feel about that name, but its only in working titles right now...and by that I mean my friend and I are writing (well he's writing I'm art directing) a graphic novel about 'titan' as a superhero type character.

The down side to 'titan' is he was built for the San Fransisco Worlds Fair in 1939 and in his current state 'titan' is a super-polluter (setting is in 2039 and that shit doesn't slide anymore) and needs a energy source replacement to be more "green". 'Titan' can't turn off to make the switch without dying (losing every aspect of his current self) if they shut him down then turned him back on he could be a she, maybe a cat, nothing will remain 'titan'...story goes on...some crazy shit starts to happen multiple nations become interested in 'titan' as the there potential property...'titan' splits out, meets someone interesting that intrigues a notion of survival...until... OMG! WTF!!!! I promise its going to be a really good read and look, no joke. So, I drew this up as a rough (very rough) model to give an idea for the art direction of the novel.

This is one set of illustrations from Nightmares.  You know I have never had this nightmare...

I just got this book over the weekend. My good friend wrote this and his girlfriend edited it. They also screen printed each cover and perfect bound each book all by hand. The stories are actually kind of terrifying...maybe I should stop listing to my moms old 'Scary Monsters' halloween tape while I read. The illustrations in the book are also equally as creepy.

Errr numero uno.
